Mick Thomson - All Hope Is GoneSeymour Duncan has a wide range of active pickups that were designed to give you a truly organic sound with a wide frequency range (more tone). Our standard AHB-1 Blackouts are available in both Phase I and Phase II sizes, which means that you can easily find the right replacement for your guitar that already has active pickups. They are also available in 7-string and 8-string. Our Blackouts for Metal is our highest output active pickup and is designed for pure aggressive tone. Our EMTY Blackouts will give you the pulverizing tone that Mick Thomson of Slipknot has been known for and it also comes in a 7-string version that is available in Phase I and Phase II sizes. The Dave Mustaine Livewire is matched with the resonant frequency of the JB and Jazz and has a built-in preamp that gives you more cut and more output. Just check out the sound samples below and see which one suits your style. Our Livewire Classic II will also give you an active boost and keep the clarity and definition of each note in your chord.

We also have Blackouts for Strat which allow you to get the active power of Blackouts but in a single coil size. For Bass players, we have Blackouts for Bass which will provide you with truly aggressive and soul startling sound. If you want to use your current passive pickups but are looking for active gain, we have our Blackouts Modular Preamp.

Need to know how to change out the active pickups that came in your guitar? This video will show you just how truly easy it is.
